While the gourds are drying during the winter, original Gourdgal Papercutting is happening indoors. Without patterns or stencils, paper is cut into images of the tree of life, steaming teapots, antique chairs, hearts, and besherets. The technique of tangling two cuttings together originated in the Gourdgal studios and has been published in FirstCut, the quarterly publication for the Guild of American Papercutters, and in Knip-pers, the quarterly publication of the Dutch Papercutting Guild, Holland. Gourdgal Papercutting is sold either matted and framed, or attached to a greeting card suitable for customer framing.
The following locations have Gourdgal Papercuttings:
Gallery One, Millwood Ave, Winchester, VA (framed pieces)
Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Amherst Street, Winchester, VA
